Nominated by Cecile Stelter, District Forester, Forest District 14, Crawford Erie County Wildland Fire Crew was selected to receive this honor for 2023.An excert from the nomination included recognizing CEC:

“The CEC saw a need for volunteer wildland fire leadership, and they rose to the occasion, organized and are ready and willing to answer the call.  They have demonstrated their commitment and their willingness to be leaders in the wildland fire program…”  

The crew is humbled to be among some of the greatest wildland leaders in Pennsylvania. Many members of the leadership team gained their experience under Harry Drury, the first recipient of this award. The crew strives to perfect the skills, professionalism and honor that Harry brought to the wildland fire program in our region, state, and nation.
